Claude Code on the web
Dispatch cloud sessions from the CLI, connect GitHub, and teleport work between web and local Claude Code.
Claude Code on the web runs coding tasks in cloud infrastructure connected to a GitHub repository. It is different from Remote Control, which lets a remote UI steer a process that still executes on your computer.
Official guide: Claude Code on the web.
Connect and dispatch
Connect GitHub:
/web-setupDispatch a task from the terminal:
claude --cloud "Investigate the failing CI job, make the smallest fix, and open a pull request."--remote is a deprecated alias for --cloud; it is unrelated to Remote
Control.
Cloud sessions are a good fit for parallel background tasks, clean reproduction environments, and work that should continue after your laptop disconnects.
Bring a cloud session local
claude --teleportChoose a session explicitly when needed:
claude --teleport <session>Inside Claude Code, /teleport (alias /tp) provides the same handoff.
Teleport brings the branch and conversation to your terminal. Later local work
does not continuously synchronize back to the cloud session.
Plan before cloud execution
Select Plan mode in a web session when you want research and an implementation plan before source changes. For consequential work, review:
- repository and branch selection,
- environment setup and allowed network hosts,
- available secrets,
- generated diff and test evidence,
- and pull-request permissions.
